Last night, we hosted 17 world class Italian chefs with a combined 21 Michelin-stars to cook a variety of gourmet dishes at A Night With The Stars. The event drew in celebrity chefs such as Vincenzo Candiano (his Locanda Don Serafino restaurant holds two Michelin stars), Umberto Bombana of Michelin three-star Otto e Mezzo Bombana and the resort’s own Chef Antonio Mellino, of Quattro Passi in Nerano, holder of two Michelin stars.
Held at The Penthouse, the newest venue at FIVE Palm Jumeirah, the event included 15 live cooking stations – with dishes including Mazzancolle con panzanella, Tortello e Ragu di panzenella and Morbidella di robiola. Guests were shown the intricacies of Italian cuisine and tasted delicious flavours transporting them to gastronomic heaven. The UAE’s Italian Food and Beverage Awards were also a part of the night, awarding Umberto Bombana with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Italian cuisine.
From Sunday 26 November - for one month only, FIVE Palm Jumeirah will pay tribute to A Night with the Stars by creating a special menu inspired by Quattro Passi Chef Antonio Mellino following the success of its unique event.
